STUDENTS’ HEALTH SAVING: THE EXPERIENCE OF TEACHERS OF SUPPORT SERVICE FOR EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS OF CHELYABINSK REGION
Abstract
The article discusses the health problems of students based on the survey of support service
and subject teachers of educational organizations of Chelyabinsk region. Based on the experience
of experts from different areas of Chelyabinsk region, the main problem was identified –
the problem of the readiness of school teachers to support the students’ health. Thus, it is necessary
to search for efficient measures that contribute to the development of this type of readiness.
The aim of the study is to identify the main reasons for the reluctance of teachers to support students’
health.
Using the analysis of documents, the main problems of health saving in the educational
process were formulated and the main contradictions in the regulation of pedagogical activity
in terms of health saving at school were identified; specific knowledge, abilities and skills of
the teacher that determine his competence in the issue of health conservation were identified;
the survey on the state of the health problems of students was conducted; the leading and contributing
factors on which the state of health-preserving activity in the educational institution depends
were determined. The reluctance of a teacher of the educational organization to support
students’ health was determined as the main problem. The methods of system, competence and
integrative approaches as well as the methods of document analysis, expert assessment, and analysis
of the products of educational activities were used.
As a result, those elements of the activity component of the participants in the pedagogical
process that determine the quality of ensuring health care in educational institutions were highlighted.
It was concluded that it is necessary to take measures that positively affect the teacher’s
sustainable formation of readiness for health-preserving activities, measures aimed at developing
and creating a positive, sustainable orientation towards preservation and maintaining students’
health, towards the formation of a student’s health culture and the need for a healthy lifestyle.
The obtained practical results can form the basis for the development of models and methodological
principles in the mastery of specific knowledge, skills, and personal qualities.
