Abstract

The importance of the research is defined by the need to develop a system of social competence forming. The subject of the article is the system-activity approach as the scientific research background. This approach provides a comprehensive study and enables the construction of the educational system of social competence forming for the students of a boarding school. The novelty of the study is that the system of social competence forming for the students of a boarding school, based on the system-activity, axiological and competence-cultural approaches, has been developed. It includes the interconnected blocks of teacher’s and students’ activities, containing the managing, contenttechnological, motivational, informational, activity, correction subsystems. The significance of the study is determined by the implementation of the system of social competence forming for the students of a boarding school and pedagogical conditions worked out for its effective functioning. The developed system can be considered a universal one, since its components are governed by the general requirements to the improvement of the quality of general education as well as by the requirements to the personality. The system is characterized by: integrity, since all these components are interconnected and are aimed at a particular result, which is to achieve a higher level of formation of social competence at a boarding school; pragmatism; openness, as the system is integrated into the educational process of a boarding school. All the blocks of the system and their content are linked to form a complete educational system aimed at solving the problems of the research.
