“STUDENTS WITH CHALLENGING EDUCATIONAL NEEDS” AS A PEDAGOGICAL CONCEPT
Abstract
The study describes a conceptual and categorical field of “students with challenging educational
needs”. The authors analyzed the definitions: “human resource”, “talent”, “giftedness”,
“cognitive flexibility”, “student”, “challenging educational need”. The article substantiates
the necessity of a clear understanding of the essence of key concepts and their interrelation.
The authors provide a brief overview of the normative and legal documents of the Federal level
aimed to work with young people that have challenging educational needs. The method of document
analysis, method of theoretical analysis, comparative analysis, contextual and morphological
analysis were used to research the conceptual and categorical field “students with higher
educational needs”. The authors offer a refined concept of the conceptual and categorical field of
“students with challenging educational needs”. An overview of the definitions can serve as
a guide for mastering the subject field of research “students with challenging educational needs”
and can form the basis for the construction of a pedagogical model.
