STATE AND METHODS OF TEACHING TRANSLATION OF SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL TEXT
Abstract
One of the most important goals of teaching translation skills is to ensure economic and
scientific exchanges between countries. Since the beginning of the 21st century, exchanges between
China and Russia are becoming more frequent, so the demand for translation personnel in
the scientific and technical sphere has grown. However, the lack of translation personnel and
the imperfection of their training system limits the development of the translation market.
On the one hand, long-standing problems still have a negative impact on the development of
translation training, on the other hand, in many universities college students and teachers pay too
much attention to theory and ignore the practice. In connection with the growing demand,
the system of the teaching translation should be improved. At the same time, it is necessary to focus
on the social needs and characteristics of the translation of scientific and technical texts,
to increase the proportion of practical courses, to develop the logical thinking of students, and to
raise the level of their translation skills of scientific and technical texts. Therefore, to prepare
qualified specialists, translation skills should include professional knowledge and abilities related
to scientific and technical texts, personal experience in Computer-Aided Translation, formation
of information retrieval competence, the ability to work in a team, and professional ethics.
