QUESTIOING AS A METHOD OF MODERN MENTORSHIP
Abstract
The article poses the problem of the transfer of experience in conditions where the production
skills of an experienced employee due to the emergence of new technologies may be inadequate
to the current situation. The authors offer a sketch of the concept of a new type mentoring.
Its main features are: a differentiated analysis by a mentor of his own experience, the ability to
highlight relevant and outdated components in it, attention to the uniqueness of situations
of mentee and his requests, the ability to help him analyze his difficulties. The skills related to
the general literacy of the mentor are highlighted: the ability to ask meaningful questions both
regarding the experience of mentor and the situation of the mentee, the ability to help the mentee
pose his own questions about the situation and formulate a request for help from the mentor.
In this regard, a hypothesis has been formulated about the place that interactive questioning
should take in the training of mentors, and an experiment is described confirming the effectiveness
of such techniques.
