SCIENTIFIC-PEDAGOGICAL SCHOOL: STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT AND ACHIEVEMENTS

Abstract

Modern development of Pedagogy usually results in research activities of research teams that
involve scientists that have common worldview, follow the same methodology of cognition, and
often belong to one scientific school. The article describes the types of scientific schools; features
of socio-humanitarian and pedagogical scientific schools. Peculiar features of scientific schools
are systematized and concretized for pedagogical schools. The features of one of the famous pedagogical
schools of the South Urals established by a professor, Gennady Nikolaevich Serikov,
are depicted. It is proved that this scientific school has all the characteristics of a scientific
school. Qualitative and quantitative indicators are given for all the identified criteria. The stages
of development of the scientific school under external and internal factors are characterized;
its composition is described; main ideas and leading concepts, and contribution to science
(achievements of representatives of the scientific school) are revealed. The topics of research carried
out between 1979 and 2020 are systematized. The results described in the article were
obtained using the methods of comparative analysis of scientific works of representatives of
the scientific school; documentation analysis; surveys; information search (websites that contain the nformation about the representatives of a scientific school). Based on the trends studied, the achievements of the development of the scientific school, its current state, and the further directions of its development are determined.
