A PERSONALIZED APPROACH TO THE ORGANISATION OF THE IN-DEPTH LANGUAGE TRAINING (CASE STUDY OF ELITE EDUCATION PROGRAMME AT SOUTH URAL STATE UNIVERSITY)
Abstract
Higher education oriented to an average student does not satisfy the needs of education elite –
graduates of lyceums and gymnasiums. Elite training zones organized at universities can solve
this problem enabling the most talented and motivated students to develop their potential.
The purpose of the article is to summarize the experience gained in the implementation of indepth
language training in the area of elite education at South Ural State University within the
framework of the 5–100 Initiative. The article presents the theoretical and methodological approaches
to the design of a language training model. The personalized approach is chosen as a
practice-oriented tactics. Personalized approach to students training presupposes: considering
learners’ features, individual differences, interests and needs; focus on personal knowledge;
learners’ activity and autonomy in educational process; building educational process as coexisting
educational community; directing the mode of pedagogical interaction towards teacherstudent
synergy in solving set tasks on participative principles. The authors of the article present
a model of in-depth elite language training, its structural components, as well as the pedagogical
conditions for its implementation.
