UNIVERSAL COGNITIVE LEARNING SKILLS OF A PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENT AS PEDAGOGICAL PHENOMENON

Abstract

Universal сognitive learning skills of a primary school student as well as other universal learning skills are basic notions of the New Federal State Educational Standards for Primary School. However, in spite of the fact that the importance of the universal cognitive learning skills in the process of intellectual and creative development of a primary school student is evident, they are not essentially analyzed. The research reveals the essence of the universal cognitive learning skills of a primary school student as a pedagogical phenomenon. Thorough analysis of the psychological and pedagogical resources as well as the study of the primary student age peculiarities allowed us to reveal the essence of such notions as “universal cognitive learning skills of a primary school student”, “cognition”, “cognitive activity”. The key characteristics of the universal cognitive learning skills of a primary school student are considered. Their structure is described. The criteria to evaluate the levels of the development of universal cognitive learning skills for a primary student are presented. The key characteristics of the universal cognitive learning  skills of a primary school student as pedagogical phenomenon are defined. The results can be used in theory and practice of primary education in order to improve the quality of modern primary education through the formation of cognitive universal learning skills of a primary school student at the productive and creative levels.
