Abstract

Parameters of equilibria realizing in iron oxide reduction in water gas atmosphere (СО–СО2–Н2–Н2О) in the presence of carbon are calculated. For graphical interpretation of results a space diagram is first constructed, which is a combination of three-phase equilibria surfaces and four-phase equilibria lines, whose point of intersection determines the parameters of nonvariant five-phase equilibrium. Water gas compositions in equilibrium with Fe3O4–С, Fe3O4–FeO–С, FeO–С, FeO–Fe–С, Fe–С and Fe3O4–FeO–Fe–С mixtures are defined. A graphical method to find the possible water gas compositions in equilibrium with these mixtures is proposed.
