Integrative Approach to the Measurement of Universal Academic Actions

Abstract

The article presents a justification of integrative approach to measuring multicomponent systemic phenomena. It considers principles, trends and conditions of implementing an integrative approach to the measurement of universal (meta-subject) academic actions of schoolchildren, which is a priority of new educational standards in Russian Federation.

The basic structural elements of the article are: the problem of psychological measurement of the development of universal academic actions; principles of integrative approach in the measurement of multicomponent systemic phenomena; activeness of the subject of a sphere of life: notion and a theoretical concept; academic activeness as a predictor of universal academic actions development.

Results of two empirical research studies are described: 1) psychometric research of “School Activeness Questionnaire” on a sample of 1123 schoolchildren aged 14–16; 2) research into psychological peculiarities of 299 13–14-year-old teenagers in three groups different by the overall aggregate level of activeness: high, medium and low levels.
