PECULIARITIES OF THE IMPACT OF FILM-SCREENING ON THE AUDIENCE (CROSS-CULTURAL ASPECT)

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study influence of film adaptations on social value orientations of audience from different cultures. As stimulus material it was used two adaptations of novel «War and Peace»: one, produced by S. Bondarchuk in 1967 and second one, produced by Tom Harper in 2016. Sample: The data was collected from 29 chinese students from Department of Linguistics and Translation of Institute of Linguistics and International Communication of South Ural State University and 29 Russian students from Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities of South Ural State University. Results: There were found significant differences in influence of film adaptations on audience with different meaningful social values. This difference varies, depending on cultural code of audience.
