Age- and sex-related profiles of coping-behavior typical of the adolescents
Abstract
In the paper it is shown that adolescents have special profiles of controlling stress. At the age of 13, no sexrelated differences in choosing the strategies of controlling can be observed while 15-aged subjects demonstrate the most difference in coping strategies. The strategies of “distancing” and “accepting responsibility” in all age groups of the adolescents, both boys and girls, are the least preferred. The strategies of “searching for social support” and “planning of solving the problem” prove to be the most wanted ones.
