PSYCHOTHERAPEUTIC ENVIRONMENT IN THE REHABILITATION OF PATIENTS AFTER STROKE ‒ A FORM OF MILIEU THERAPY

Abstract

The article gives an analysis of research on the formation of the psychological environment in the rehabilitation of patients after stroke. Psychological assistance should be aimed at personnel’s
training to work with the patients’ community and their relatives to create a psychological environment department (milieu therapy). Psychological care of patients after a stroke is aimed at correcting the relationship to themselves, to the treatment and to the disease, to society; the formation of a positive medical and life perspective. It is analyzed the results of using the individual correction in 84 patients with ischaemic consequences (I69.3 ICD-10) and hemorrhagic stroke (I69.1 ICD-10) in a stationary rehabilitation. After completion of psychological correction program it is marked improvement in patients with mood, self-esteem boost, adherence to treatment. With patients’ relatives was conducted family counseling aimed at оptimisation their relationships with patients.
