Ipsative Personality Tests with Items in Forced Choice Format: Analysis of International Experience

Abstract

In the past decade, foreign psychodiagnostics revived interest in the study of ipsative testing method, in particular, of forced choice format tests. This article contains results of the review of foreign literature on the subject, reviews of the history of research on ipsative method, description of the specific of ipsative data and ipsative forced choice test. This is a review of the advantages and limitations of ipsative forced choice tests and description recent research on this topic.
