CONCEPT OF PSYCHOPATHY AND ITS DEVELOPMENT IN RUSSIAN AND FOREIGN PSYCHOLOGY (LITERATURE REVIEW)
Abstract
The article presents a theoretical overview of the major theories of psychopathy, also known
as the dissocial, or antisocial, personality disorder. It includes controversial issues associated
with the development of views on the essence, role and place of this phenomenon in psychology.
Different aspects of formulation and development of the concept of psychopathy in Russian and foreign psychology are discussed, as well as difficulties connected with the differentiation of subtypes of psychopathy, terminological problems, and major lines of research in the field of psychopathy that have been formed historically in Russian and foreign psychology.
