CLINICO-PSYCHOLOGICAL FEATURES OF GIMNASIUM STUDENTS WITH HIGH LEVEL OF COGNITIVE FUNCTIONING

Abstract

The article presents the results of research on the psychological characteristics and
socialization in a society of children with a high level of cognitive functioning. The social
adaptation of students with high level of cognitive functioning was analyzed and identified
common problems. The psychological features of children with high intelligence was analyzed.
The comparative analysis of the psychological characteristics and adaptive abilities of gifted
students and their peers was implemented. This is a moderate positive correlation (coefficient r = +0,477) between competent response and level of intelligence, and a moderate inverse correlation (r = –0,447) between aggressiveness and level of cognitive ability. positive
correlation (r = +0,511) revealed between intelligence and distribution at higher sociometric
positions in the situation to assess success in learning from classmates according to the results of sociometry by Moreno. Test results on Sobchik shown that there is a moderate negative
correlation level of anxiety and intelligence (r = –0,343). A positive correlation (r = +0,54)
spotted between school performance and intelligence.
