Abstract

The review represents implicit tests developed in Western psychology. There are four implicit tests: Implicit Association Test (IAT) to measure attitudes, IAT to measure gender stereotypes, Implicit Positive and Negative Affect Test (IPANAT), Implicit Self-Appraisal Test (ISAT). The IATs are manifested as actions or judgments that are under the control of automatically activated evaluation, without the performer's awareness of that causation. The IAT method offers the further advantage of being adaptable to assess a wide variety of associations (in particular self-concept). The IPANAT is an instrument for the indirect assessment of positive and negative affect. The ISAT is designed to measure implicit self-attitudes such as self-liking and selfconfidence through indirect visual scaling / ranking procedures. These tests allow measuring implicit processes in the fields of social psychology, emotion, and personality.
