The Semantic and Etymological Analysis of Concept and Term "Anxiety" When Used in Modern Domestic and Foreign Psychology

Abstract

In article semantic and etymological features of a word "anxiety" are analyzed. Shown that the Western European understanding of the word "anxiety" characterizes the constraint and the paralyzing fear of the unknown, in contrast to the Slavic unrest and indecision.

Greco-Latin origin of the word "anxiety" in Slavic languages and in different groups of Romanesque languages is characterize on neuro-vegetative level the different groups of symptoms - tremor and stiffness.
