EXPERT RECOMMENDATIONS ON SPECIAL PURPOSE UNITS’ STAFF SELECTION FOR THE INTERIOR

Abstract

The article includes the results of the second stage of research on psychological diagnostics techniques and staff selection procedure for law enforcement structures of the Russian federation based on principle of professional competence of special purpose units' employees as well as the results of comparative psychodiagnostical analysis of materials on performance criteria of combat activities on the solution of problems of selection and training specializing in effective
management of melee and shooting service weapons. The article describes the comparative characteristics of psychodiagnostic test building techniques and MMPI experts established psychological characteristics of “effective shootist” (employees with consistently high results in competitive shooting) and “effective fighter” (employees with high results in departmental competitions applied kinds of martial arts). The article presents psychological characteristics of success in these types of combat activities as the basis of selection of personnel for specific tasks of special forces police.
