Abstract

To develop multi-element lithium-ion batteries, one needs to understand a single battery. The development of reliable and accurate models of lithium-ion battery is the actual engineering problem. This model should be easy to use and calculating. The empirical model based on the equivalent circuit is easy for the implementation and sufficient precision evaluation of the battery parameters for the modeling of battery cells with known characteristics and for the BMS design (battery management systems). The equivalent circuit has been drawn up with the help of the language and Simscape blocks in MATLAB. Each circuit element is a set of experimentally obtained values of the basic parameters of the lithium-ion battery. Also, the paper considers the model of a lithium-ion battery from Simulink MATLAB libraries. On the basis of comparison of experimental and simulated data recommendations for choosing a model at the development of lithium-ion battery monitoring and control system are provided.
