Abstract

The paper presents results of experimental and theoretical studies on how profile quality (depth of cuts) is influenced by electric drive of die-rolling mill ISF in OAO “MMK-METIZ” (JSC) producing stock for reinforcement of concrete sleepers. It is proved that change of load torque in electric drive of unwinding apparatus inducing wire tension before the shaping stand significantly influences the change of depth of cuts in reinforcement wire. For unwinding apparatus of die-rolling mill ISF 5 we obtained empirical expressions and their confidence intervals of influence of angular velocity of unwinding apparatus electric drive on idling torque at treatment of wire with diameters d1 = 5 mm and d2 = 9.98 mm. For process parameters of reinforcement wire producing on die-rolling mill ISF 5 we obtained empirical expressions and their confidence intervals of influence of tension before the shaping stand on change of depth of cuts in reinforcement wire. It is proved that obtained empirical expressions correspond to experimental data, and coefficients of regression equations are significantly different from zero. We found range of tension acceptable change for producing of reinforcement wire with diameters d1 = 5 mm and d2 = 9.98 mm considering provided possible change of depth of cuts within specification tolerance. We developed general evaluation technique for influence of die-rolling mill unwinding apparatus electric drive on depth of cuts in wire. We developed additional process requirements to unwinding apparatus electric drive which could be implemented to provide changes in depth of cuts within tolerance values.
