Abstract

The article considers and analyzes the main known no-contact methods of control long materials (LM) movement parameters. It is shown that the identification attribute, i.e. the primary information in the contactless measuring devices should be a signal proportional to the physical and mechanical properties of the LM. A new method to measure the speed of movement and the length of the LM, based on the implementation of the principle of spatially coordinate the identification of the individual sites. The suggested information parameters are spatial coordinates between the neighboring local inhomogeneities LM with the extreme values of linear density, and to simplify the circuit design of the method, the resulting “scale” of the spatial coordinates convert to the appropriate “scale” sequence of time intervals between the irregularities. This improves the measuring accuracy. A possible device implementing the method of measurement having a comparatively simple hardware implementation and providing a high measurement accuracy, is described. The implementation of the proposed measurement method will create a number of devices for contactless measurement of traffic lengthy physical objects parameters in a variety of industries.
