Perspectives of Stainless Steel Production Using a Substandard Raw Material of Kazakhstan

Abstract

The paper considers perspectives of developing the ferrous metallurgy of Kazakhstan by organization of stainless steel production. The project assumes using a substandard chromium ore containing 38 % Cr2O3 and obtaining semi-product material (cast iron) for further oxygen, nitrogen, argon or steam blowing to convert it to steel.
