Slag Formation in Non-Furnace Aluminothermic Smelting of Ferrotungsten

Abstract

The paper describes results of physicochemical analysis of slag formation during smelting of ferrotungsten by non-furnace method. The results of investigation of the metal and slag samples are presented. Samples were taken from the reaction layer in the process of industrial heat. The linear burning rate of metallothermic charge while increasing its initial temperature in an industrial furnace is investigated.
