Thermodynamic Analysis of the Reactions Between FeO, FeCr2O4 and Gaseous Carbon-Containing Reducing Agents

Abstract

The thermodynamic characteristics of reactions and gas equilibrium composition are calculated for reduction process of FeO and FeCr2O4 oxides by carbon- and hydrogen-containing gaseous reducing agents СН4, СН3, СН2, СН, С2Н, С2Н2, С2Н3, С2Н4, С2Н6, С3Н, Н2, Н, СО, С3О2, С2О. It is found that the carbon- and hydrogen-containing radicals are showing increased reducing ability compared to molecular CO and H2.
