Influence of Modifiers on the Structure of St3 Steel

Abstract

The paper is devoted to the study of modification of low-carbon steel by silicocalcium modifier. Modifiers of different manufacture were considered, namely Argentine, Chinese and mixed Russian. The focus is on comparing the influence of various modifiers on the microstructure and composition of non-metallic inclusions in the samples of St3 steel. It was found that the most effective modifier is the one of Argentine manufacture
