Investigation of the Effect of Concentration of Dispersed Particles of Carbides on Abrasive Wear Resistance of Centrifugally Cast Billets
Abstract
Hard refractory carbide particles contained in the matrix metal can significantly affect its wear resistance: this effect is achieved due to the fact that the particles impede dislocation shear. It is known that the magnitude of the change of wear-resistant properties depends on the concentration of particles in the metal. The paper presents the results of studies of the effect of concentration of dispersed particles in centrifugally cast billets on wear-resistant properties of dispersion-hardened metal.
