THE IMPACT OF TELEVISION ON THE FORMATION OF THE LANGUAGE PERSONALITY OF A CHILD AS A PARTICIPANT OF A HUMOROUS DISCOURSE
Abstract
This article presents a practical study, which purpose was to confirm or disprove the theory aboutthe effect television has on the formation of the linguistic personality of a child as a participant of a humorous discourse. Empirical and theoretical methods such as observation, comparison, analysis, abstraction, hypotheses were selected for working on the material of the research. As a material for the research some releases of the humorous program “Evening Urgant. The view from below” were used, where children answer questions of the famous TV host trying to be funny. As a result of the research, humorous language behavior of young participants of TV-show in the age from 3 to 10 was analyzed, analogy between the verbal and nonverbal language features which were found in the speech of famous comedians and those which are used by children was made. Thus, the conclusion of the study was the confirmation of the theory about the impact of television on the formation of the linguistic personality of a child, identification the nature of interpretation by children of such a genre of humorous discourse like an adult joke. Further research may be conducted on the basis of the findings not only in the field of linguistics, but also in sociology, psychology and pedagogy.
