UNIVERSITY DISCOURSE: CORPUS COMPILATION (A CASE STUDY OF THE SECRET HISTORY BY DONNA TARTT)

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the university discourse from the linguistic point of view. The
theoretical basis of the integral approach of T. Khomutova to language and text is given and it is proven to be a reasonable approach to the study of university discourse. Different approaches to defining of discourse and text are given. The terms university novel and university discourse are defined from the point of view of integral approach. The discourse corpus from the novel The Secret History by Donna Tartt is classified according to the integral classification of the discourse and analyzed. The conclusion of reasonability of studying university discourse on the material of the author’s speech id drawn.
