LEXICAL AND STYLISTIC FEATURES OF INFORMATIONAL GENRES OF REGIONAL ONLINE MEDIA TEXTS

Abstract

The article analyzes lexical and stylistic features of informational genres of media texts published
in regional online media. The author emphasizes that regional online media are represented by different
groups of genres (analytical, belles-lettres and publicistic ones); however, the core of the media contentis made by informational genres. It is related to the specific features of Internet communication and the
need to promptly provide information via online media. The data for the research are news stories, interviews
and reports chosen as the most frequently published on the websites of different online media
(television stations, radio stations, newspapers and news agencies). The analysis of lexical and stylistic
features of informational genres of media texts allows to identify language and lexical means and to
evaluate the use of the word in a particular speech context. The article represents the lexical layer of basic
informational genres implemented in modern Internet communications.
