THE IMAGE OF A WOMAN IN THE RUSSIAN AND ENGLISH PAROEMIAS OF A SEMANTIC GROUP “FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS” THROUGH THE PRISM OF GENDER MENTALITY

Abstract

The image of a woman-wife as a synthesis of men’s and women’s mentality in Russian and English
proverbs is considered in this article. The comparative analysis of proverbs denoting family relationships makes possible to reveal some universal and specific traits of national character of Russian and English peoples. The article is of interest to gender aspects in language and culture researchers.
