EXTRALINGUISTIC REASONS OF COMMUNICATION FAILURES

Abstract

This article deals with communication failures and their extralinguistic reasons. The most important
of them are different worldviews, alien communicative environment, different mental models and
deviations of verbal behavior. The author gives a lot of examples demonstrating the process of communication failures in different communication situations and looks for ways to overcome them. The article is intended for students and post-graduate students learning intercultural communication matters.
