Abstract

The article focuses on the problem of encyclopedic discourse and different factors that affect
creativity. The notions of encyclopedic discourse, its structure, principal constituents and typology
are investigated. Different approaches to the analysis of discourse are described with a special emphasis
on the integral approach. An integral model of encyclopedic discourse with respect to its
cognitive, social, cultural and language aspects is presented. The influence of Saint Petersburg on
the creative work of world famous people is revealed. Perspectives of further research are outlined.
