METAPHOR AS A VERBALIZER OF THE CONCEPT “PATRIOTISM”

Abstract

The article discusses various approaches to the definition of the notions “concept”, concept of
"patriotism" in the artwork. The authors single out artistic concepts, cognitive concepts, conceptconcepts and concept-ideas. The authors state that concepts depend on the culture of an individual as well as on the culture of the nation. Concepts are verbalized not only in words but also in metaphors that are often found in literary works, they convey the author’s way of perceiving and organizing the world and help to reveal peculiarities of the concept “patriotism” in the artwork as well as to express the author’s worldview.
