CONCEPTUAL GROUNDS OF SYMBOLISM: PHILOSOPHICAL, AESTHETIC AND LINGUISTIC ASPECTS
Abstract
The article examines philosophical and aesthetic principles of symbolism based
on personal (somewhat intuitive) comprehension of ideas, feelings, and visions as well as
on desire to create works of art in the allusive world using conditional language elements.
The article reveals the concept of “linguistic aesthetics of symbolism” connected with rethinking
of the word as a unit of language in the literary text and its transforminginto
a unit of a different quality – a verbal symbol.
