DISCOURSE TYPOLOGY: AN INTEGRAL APPROACH
Abstract
The article focuses on the problem of discourse typology. The notions of discourse, its
structure, principal constituents and correlation of discourse, text and communication are
investigated. Different approaches to the analysis of discourse are described with a special
emphasis on the integral approach. An integral typology of discourse with respect to its
cognitive, social, cultural and language aspects is presented. Perspectives of further research
are outlined.
