GALLICISMS AS A MEANS OF CREATING A MEDIEVAL PICTURE OF THE WORLD IN A MODERN RUSSIAN FANTASY
Abstract
The present article deals with historicisms of French origin that form a medieval picture
of the world in a modern Russian fantasy. The concept “Middle Ages” is a multileveled
frame that consists of subframes and slots verbalized in the text by means of Gallicisms.
The authors single out three dominating subframes as the basis of the discussed
frame, two of these subframes are analyzed in detail. The frame approach allows to reveal
the hierarchical organization of cognitive processes modeling a picture of the world in consciousness
of the reader. The paper also presents results and prospects of the research.
