COMPARATIVE STUDY OF TRANSLATING RUSSIAN VERBAL-NOMINAL SET EXPRESSIONS IN TEACHING IRANIAN STUDENTS

Abstract

The comparative study of verbal-nominal set expressions and ways of their translation
into Persian is actual, especially in teaching Russian as a foreign language. Fixing regular
functional and semantic identity between units of two languages is required due to translation
and methodical needs. Despite the fact that verbal-nominal set expressions constitute
a numerous and important group of the vocabulary and are frequently used, peculiarities
of their translation into Persian and problems connected with phraseology, translation and
methodology have not been studied at large. The present paper gives a detailed analysis of
semantic and grammatical peculiarities and communicative value of these phraseological
units and aims at solving problems of translating Russian verbal-nominal set expressions
from the standpoint of comparative analysis.
