RESTRICTIONS OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL FREEDOM OF SPEECH DURING THE ELECTION CAMPAIGN
Abstract
The article deals with a number of existing legislative restrictions on the constitutional right of citizens to freedom of speech in the Russian Federation, acting during electoral process and election campaign, their constitutionality, reasonableness and necessity, and the implementation of these restrictions on freedom of speech in the law enforcement practice and their impact on the electoral process are analyzed. The author pays special attention to limiting the constitutional freedom of speech in the course of election campaign on the Internet and social networks as a special subject of legal regulation, as well as the problem of balancing the constitutional protection of freedom of speech with electoral legislation.
