THE PROBLEM OF PERSONAL DISCRIMINATION BASED ON THE POSITIVE HIV/AIDS STATUS
Abstract
The article examines the issue of discrimination against people with the positive HIV status. A number of examples illustrating the attitude towards HIV-infected people in various countries of the world are cited. The author focuses on the study of the problem of discrimination of persons with the positive HIV status in the Russian Federation. The author of the article reviewed the normative acts, judicial practice, which indicates the existence of discrimination against HIV-infected people. The article identifies various factors contributing to the development of discrimination. According to the results of the research, the author suggests measures aimed at counteracting discrimination against people with the positive HIV status.Published
