Abstract

This article is devoted to a comparative legal study of the protection of the rights of the accused under the laws of Russia and the Republic of Yemen. The article highlights the main issues of the procedural situation of the accused in the criminal proceedings of the Republic of Yemen and the Russian Federation. The essence of the defendant's right to defense under the Russian and Yemeni law is examined. The mechanism of ensuring the right to defend the accused under the legislation of the countries studied is analyzed. The most important guarantees of ensuring the defendant's right to defense are considered.
