PROTECTION OF THE RIGHTS OF THE ACCUSED AT THE TRIAL STAGE (A COMPARATIVE STUDY FOR LEGISLATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF YEMEN AND THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION)
Abstract
This article focuses on the comparative aspects of the protection of the rights of the accused
at the stage of judicial proceedings under the laws of Russia and the Republic of Yemen.
The main questions of the procedural position of the accused in the criminal proceedings of the
Republic of Yemen and the Russian Federation are discussed. The basic rights of the accused
at the trial stage, under the Russian law and the legislation of the Republic of Yemen are considered.
The guarantees of implementating the rights of the accused at the trial stage are analyzed.
The difference in the procedural position of the defendant and convicted under Russian
law is considered. The defendant's right to silence, under the Yemeni law is accounted for. This
subject is of practical and theoretical importance and relevance.
