Abstract

The object of this article is legal regulation of municipal property in different periods of
its formation and development in the Russian Federation. The legal status of owners of municipal
property, ways and methods of formation of municipal ownership, management and
disposal of municipal property are analyzed. Based on the study of the federal legislation the
author draws a conclusion about the dilution of municipal property, the loss of many objects
by municipalities, a trend that has acquired a stable character in recent years.
