NATURE OF ACTIVITIES OF THE SOVIET ADVOCACY IN THE YEARS OF NEP

Abstract

The article is devoted to detection of features of realization of protection function in
the Soviet court. Transition to new economic policy requires law enforcement for all categories
of the population at consideration of civil and criminal cases. In the article the author
considers revival of advocacy in connection with transition to new economic policy,
shows its continuity with the pre-revolutionary. The analysis of the principles of selection
of personnel (a class association, party affiliation) testifies an aspiration of governing party
to the establishment of effective control of composition and organizational structure of
bars. Special attention is paid to studying of functions and forms of activity of advocacy in
the Ural region depending on stages of new economic policy and changes of composition
of governing party.
