CRIMINAL PENALTIES: ISSUES OF EFFICIENCY

Abstract

The article considers the problem of efficiency for criminal punishment,
presents a discussion on the criteria and indicators of efficiency of
criminal punishment. The provision whether the effectiveness of punishment
should be determined by the degree of achievement of the goals set by
the criminal law, if the goals of punishment can be considered as indicators,
criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of the punishment is analyzed. When
analyzing the effectiveness of punishment in the article, it is recommended
to highlight the effectiveness of the penal system, the efficiency of the application
and execution of punishment, the effectiveness of the criminal law on
the punishment. Finally it is concluded that only a systematic study of these
types of efficiency will allow you to better evaluate the effectiveness of the
punishment.
