Abstract

The article considers significant violations of the criminal procedure law as grounds
for cancellation or change of the court decision in the cassation. This topic touches on
the current legal problem. It is the discovery of the presented ground that facilitates the
modification or cancellation of the illegal, violating the procedural rights, verdict, restoring
social justice, providing for the purpose of justice. The article provides a detailed
analysis of the cassation proceedings, the legal nature of significant violations of the
criminal procedure law in retrospect, reveals the types of material violations of the procedural
law and outlines the most typical ones. Particular attention is drawn to the concretization
of signs of significant violations of the criminal procedure law
