POWERS OF OFFICIALS OF SEPARATE CORPS OF BORDER GUARDS FOR THE BENEFIT OF SEARCH AND SEIZURE

Abstract

The article analyzes the legal norms, establishing the powers of officials of Separate
Corps of Border Guards (SCBG) for searches and seizures in the border area as part of the
border surveillance activities. The features of legal regulation of procedural activities of
border guards at the beginning of the XX century are highlighted. In particular, the limits of
the powers of officials in the border area are pointed out. The peculiarities of the
documentation of the results of procedural activity for the fixation of the traces of criminal
activity are considered. The article provides the structure of protocol on the execution of
searches and seizures and its important elements. The subjects, who had the right for the
execution of contraband search and seizure according to secret messages, are listed in the
article. The conclusions on the level and nature of the legal regulation of procedural
activities of officials of the Border Corps are drawn.
