Abstract

The article deals with the problems of the necessity and possibility of reforming the Constitution
of the Russian Federation under reformatting of modern system of international relations.
Particular attention is paid to dialectical contradiction between the objectives of protection
of the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the needs of constitutional development
of Russia in terms of rapidly changing multi-polar world. The analysis of factors that could
affect the decision on the constitutional reform or refusal to initiate this complex political and
legal process is performed. The author notes the existence of impressive grounds for the
reform of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, on the one hand, and a high level of risk
of the possible destabilization of the society systems in case of a substantial renovation of constitutional
provisions on the other hand. Conclusion on the dependence of the solution on the
reform of the Constitution of the Russian Federation on the degree of acceptability of the relevant
political risks to federal authorities, including the results of the analysis of the possibilities
of evolutionary constitutional reform is made.
