CRIMINALIZATION OF SOCIALLY DANGEROUS ACTS, CONNECTED WITH FIXATION OF EXCLUSIVELY HIGH PRICE

Abstract

The analysis of the social and economic relations in Russia shows a rise in prices
and inflations for a decade and acceleration of these processes recently. Protection of
society against exclusively high prices has been conducted since ancient times and has
been reflected in the Bible. The analysis of Article 178 of the Criminal Code of the Russian
Federation shows its unfitness for the fight against the specified phenomenon. Application
of the principles of criminalization confirms the increased public danger of
studied violations. The adduced arguments prove the necessity of criminalization of acts
of exclusively high prices or with deficiency of goods (for the purpose of increase their
cost). Thus, in Article 178 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation it is necessary
to change the name of the article with the words "and also protection of interests of
consumers", and to fix the acts regarding Part 1 of Article 178 of the Criminal Code of
the Russian Federation under consideration.
