MALIKI SCHOOL IN ISLAMIC LAW
Abstract
The article is devoted to Maliki law school, which is established within the
framework of Islamic law in the Arab Caliphate in the end of VIII century. The
author systematizes characteristics of the Maliki school, analyzes the approach
of adherents of malikism to the problem of sources of law. The article reveals
the reasons of the relatively weak popularity of foundations of malikism in the
Islamic world and narrow distribution area of this school, limited by the countries
of the Maghreb and the medieval Andalusia.
